You may know us as Skipton Properties. In November 2025 we renamed the business in honour of our founder, Brian Verity, and the family and team behind it are the same.
At Verity & Co Homes, every home is built by people who care, from the family who founded the company, to the colleagues who’ve grown with us, to the new talent shaping our future. Together, our team brings the craft, pride, and attention to detail that define our homes across Yorkshire and Lancashire.
Our story began in 1986 with Brian Verity, whose belief in doing things properly set the foundation for everything we do. Today, his daughters Sarah Barraclough and Caroline van Niekerk carry that legacy forward, shaping Verity & Co Homes with that same dedication, with Sarah leading the business with a passion she truly lives and breathes.

In recognition of a lasting legacy
In April 2023, Skipton Properties received the NFB Member Special Recognition Award, presented to our founder, Brian Verity. The award celebrates individuals who’ve made an outstanding contribution to both the construction industry and their communities — recognition that reflects not only Brian’s achievements but the company he built.
Brian led the business for over three decades, shaping a culture grounded in integrity, craftsmanship, and care. His belief was simple: homes should be built to last, and built with heart. That principle continues to guide us today, influencing how we design, build, and support the communities we create.
The award marked a proud moment for our family and our team — a reminder of how far Brian’s vision has carried us, and the enduring values that remain at the heart of our work.
